Rue de Mérignac
The Mérignac family
Two families from this street have alternately given it their name, de Langon and de Mérignac. Lord Pierre Langon had several houses in the street in the XIVth century. Then the street took the name of the Mérignac family of whom Philippe was a public prosecutor in the parliament in 1677. The old Geneste town house has left a few architectural traces such as the two XVI and XVIIth century wings that enclose the court.
