Columns of Tutela
This space has existed since ancient times when it was lined with porches and occupied by the columns of Tutela (goddess Tutela protectress of the city). It then became known as “l′ancienne comédie” of the town hall gardens; and finally, “place de la Comédie” when the Grand Theatre was built from 1773 to 1780.
