A Natural Ditch
This was an ancient road during the first three centuries of our era.This natural ditch was re-baptised a number of times, ending up as the Fossé (or ditch) de l′Intendance in the early 18th century. This is where the intendant set up home and constructed a garden and a concert-hall... all of which were burned to the ground during the Revolution.
